<image:title>Home - Mental Health awareness.</image:title>
<image:caption>Each year, 1 in 5 Australians will experience a mental illness. Many people, particularly in the workplace, are not trained or confident to offer assistance. Physical First Aid is accepted and widespread in our community, however the same can’t be said for Mental Health First Aid. The Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) course informs people and provides the skills to help someone who they're concerned about or need to assist in a crisis.</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - Can you support someone in a crisis?</image:title>
<image:caption>Are your staff/coaches/leaders First Aid qualified and able to respond to a medical emergency? They probably are, but are they Mental Health First Aid qualified? If not, why not? Being informed about mental illnesses and what poor mental health looks like allows for staff to be better prepared to have conversations around mental health and to better respond when people aren’t feeling great or in a crisis. Mental Health First Aid is a great qualification to have and shows your workforce that the health and wellbeing of your staff is important.</image:caption>

<image:title>About - Meet Wade, Founder and Facilitator at Informed Mental Health.</image:title>
<image:caption>Informed Mental Health was born out of Wade’s passion to educate workplaces, community groups, schools and youth around what Mental Health (and illness) is and to inform and educate people on how to be better respond in a crisis or be able to provide appropriate support.. For over 15 years, Wade worked with students and youth in Student Services and more recently Student Accommodation, caring for the welfare and health and wellbeing of young people and residents. During this time, Wade also worked in various Management and Leadership positions across many companies and industries. One thing that constantly stood out through all of these experiences, was a lack of awareness around Mental Health and understanding of Mental Illness and it’s affect on the community. This lack of understanding fueled Wade’s desire to inform and educate people on the importance of understanding Mental Illness and how to support people and respond in a crisis. Wade is a passionate, vibrant and engaging facilitator who presents content in an understandable and compassionate nature. More recently, Wade has been studying and researching the impacts of psychosocial risk within the workplace that may lead to psychological injury. 12% of serious Workplace Health & Safety claims now directly relate to a psychological injury. Informed Mental Health now offers extensive risk identification resources for companies and can also work through a risk assessment and develop a comprehensive plan to reduce these risks but more importantly align with current WH&S legislation. Within a business, this takes time, someone to do it and in most cases extra pressure on the workforce. Let us do the heavy lifting for you through our consulting services.</image:caption>
